Embodying the quintessential elements of a fine chamber music ensemble, the Danish String Quartet has established a reputation for their integrated sound, impeccable intonation, and judicious balance. With their technical and interpretive gifts matched by an infectious joy for music-making and “rampaging energy” (The New Yorker), the quartet’s gifts have secured them numerous awards and coveted appointments including the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center’s CMS Two Program and the BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists program. The evening’s program will include Haydn’s String Quartet in C Major, Op. 20, No. 2; Abrahamsen’s Quartet No. 1, Ten Preludes; and Beethoven’s String Quartet, No. 7 in F Major, Op. 59, No. 1 (“Razumovsky”).

Arrive early for a pre-performance discussion with members of the Danish Quartet, led by WCVE Music Classical host Mike Goldberg at 6:30 PM
