-
When should I arrive?
We recommend arriving 20-30 minutes before the show’s start time. This will give you adequate time to park, get to the venue, pick up or purchase tickets, visit the Corner Booth if it’s open, and find your seat. Late seating is not guaranteed.
Please note that registration for free events expires 15 minutes before the performance start time. For a guaranteed seat, please arrive at least 15 minutes before the show begins.
-
Where do I park?
Parking is always free at the University of Richmond. Parking in the Modlin Center’s main parking lot (W87), located on Westhampton Way, offers convenient access to our main performance venues: Alice Jepson Theatre, Camp Concert Hall, and Cousins Studio Theatre.
For the most accurate directions directly to the Modlin Center’s main parking lot, use this Google Maps location.
At busy times, overflow parking can be found in lot W85, located on Westhampton Way across from the Jepson Alumni Center. -
Are the Modlin Center’s venues accessible?
The Modlin Center for the Arts is proud to serve patrons with accessibility needs. There are seats in all our venues that can accommodate wheelchair users and other patrons with limited mobility. So that we can seat you properly, please inform the box office of any accessibility needs in your party when you purchase tickets.

-
Will there be programs?
Beginning in the 2025-26 season, Modlin’s programs are primarily available online. You can scan the QR code posted in the venue lobby to easily access the program. You can also find the program link on the event page up to a week before the performance.
-
Will there be food & beverages available?
Food and beverages are available for purchase at the Corner Booth for Modlin Arts Presents events only.
The Corner Booth opens 90 minutes before each Modlin Arts Presents event, and closes after intermission, if applicable. For your enjoyment, beverages are allowed inside of venues. Food must stay outside the venues.
-
I registered for a free Department of Music or Department of Theatre and Dance show. Does that guarantee me a seat?
Free registration expires 15 minutes before the performance start time. For a guaranteed seat, please arrive at least 15 minutes before the show begins. Seating after that point will be subject to availability.
-
Can I purchase tickets to a Modlin Arts Presents performance on the night of the show?
Yes! The Modlin Box Office opens 90 minutes before all Modlin Arts Presents events, and our staff will be happy to assist you.
As always, seating is subject to availability, and purchasing tickets in advance will give you the widest range of seating options.
-
The performance I want to attend is sold out. Could I still attend?
Yes, you could. While seating is always subject to availability, a rush line will be available. In some cases, you can join a waitlist to purchase tickets that become available.
Rush Seating
All sold-out events will have a rush line, which patrons are invited to join up to 60 minutes before the start of the show.
For free Department of Music and Department of Theatre and Dance shows, patrons in the rush line will be seated in any available seats 15 minutes before the performance begins. Patrons arriving less than 15 minutes before the performance may take any available seats.
For Modlin Arts Presents shows, patrons in the rush line will be seated in any available seats 5 minutes before the performance begins.
Waitlists
For Modlin Arts Presents events, sold-out performances will usually have a waitlist. Contact the Modlin Box Office at (804) 289-8980 or modlinarts@richmond.edu to find out about the waitlist for a specific show. If tickets become available, waitlisted patrons will be contacted in first-come, first-served order.
Free events do not have waitlists. Please see the Rush Seating information above.
