“Varone has an unquenchable instinct for expressing the vagaries of the human heart.” – Arts Journal

Doug Varone and Dancers celebrate more than thirty years of creating impassioned choreography. The award-winning choreographer and director’s work is known for its emotional range and kinetic breadth, across such genres as dance, theater, opera, film, and fashion. The evening’s performance includes The Bench Quartet,  performed by the University of Richmond’s Dancers. Doug Varone and Dancers will perform four sections from the new work In the Shelter of the Fold  (Sextet, Duet, Trio, Solo), as well as Nocturnes and Lux.

After the Show: Join the Modlin Center for the Arts for Modlin Arts After Words, a post-show discussion with Doug Varone and the performers, moderated by Anne Van Gelder, director of dance at University of Richmond.
