    UR Wind Ensemble
    7:30 PM - 9:00 PM
    Chronicles! Come enjoy an evening of wind ensemble works from classic to contemporary. The featured piece will be the world premiere performance of “Chronicles of Hyperion” by Dr. Travis Weller. Also to be performed are works by Ron Nelson, Giralomo Frescobaldi, Gustav Holst, Dmitri Kabalevsky, and John Philip Sousa.

    The ensembles will present an evening of music performances by student instrumentalists, vocalists, and pianists. The groups are coached by Department of Music faculty members.

    The University’s largest music ensemble will perform a program of classical repertoire. Featured guest soloists will be violinist Matthew Robinson and flutist Rilyn McKallip, winners of the UR 2020 and 2021 Concerto/Aria Competitions, respectively.

    Conductor Jeffrey Riehl leads the singers of Schola Cantorum and Women’s Chorale in a joyous candlelight Christmas Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols in the tradition of King’s College, Cambridge. Prelude music begins 30 minutes before each service.
