Seating: Modlin Arts Presents events are reserved seating, and seats will be assigned by box office staff at the time of ticket purchase. UR Free Theatre and Dance events are free ticketed events and offer general admission seating. Department of Music events do not require tickets or reservations, with one exception, and offer general admission seating. Patrons should plan to arrive early to ensure ample time to select an available seat. Theatre doors open 30 minutes prior to showtime.
Arrival: The box office is open 90 minutes before the scheduled performance. Seating will begin 30 minutes prior to the performance start time. Late seating is not guaranteed, so please leave ample time for parking and arrival. We anticipate some shows to have full attendance, and overflow parking will be made available in the Jepson Alumni Center parking lot.
Air Handling and Filtration: The Modlin Center venues have upgraded ventilation systems with bipolar ionizers and UVC filters and are set to increase outside air intake.
Health: Audience members who feel unwell should stay home. Create Your Own (4+) Series ticket holders who wish to request exchanges or account credits should contact the box office at least 24 hours prior to the performance date and time. Modlin Center continues to follow university guidelines regarding health protocols and safety measures. Masks will be available onsite at the Box Office and at the performance venue for the comfort and convenience of patrons. We’ve all learned together that programs are subject to change.
These guidelines help to ensure that each audience member has the best possible experience when attending a performance at the Modlin Center for the Arts.
Late Seating
Patrons arriving late to performances will be seated at the discretion of house management at an appropriate break. Latecomers may be seated in alternate seat locations to avoid disruption of the performance.
Families
The Modlin Center welcomes patrons of all ages to experience and enjoy the arts. Please carefully consider whether a performance is appropriate for children before attending with young people. If you have concerns or questions about a specific event, please call the Box Office at (804) 289-8980.
University safety regulations require that all persons regardless of age, including babies and children seated in laps, must have a ticket for ticketed events. Be considerate of others in the audience and your young person's comfort. If the need arises house managers can help you find a quiet space outside the venue to give your little one a break.
Mobile Devices
Please silence your phone upon entering the venue. Mobile phone use, texting, and the taking of photographs or videos, are strictly prohibited inside all venues. If you expect to be contacted during a performance, please leave your mobile device and seat location with the house manager.
Cameras and Recording Devices
Cameras or recording devices of any kind are not permitted in Modlin Center venues and must be surrendered to house management before entering the venue. The use of any recording device, either audio or video, and the taking of photographs, with or without flash, is strictly prohibited.
No Perfume
Please refrain from wearing cologne, perfume, or fragranced personal products, as other patrons may be unable to enjoy the performance due to allergies or chemical sensitivity. Thank you for helping us make our events safe and accessible for others.
Disruptive Behavior
Any patron who poses a health or safety risk, causes a disturbance for other patrons, damages Modlin Center property, or does not cooperate with University staff when asked to follow Modlin Center policies will be asked to leave the venue.
