Closing the distance between classical music and Broadway, between the old and new worlds, between opera and jazz, Thousands of Miles was born out of an encounter between mezzo-soprano Kate Lindsey and jazz pianist Baptiste Trotignon. Enjoy this rich and varied program centered around the songs of Kurt Weill, from “Nanna’s Lied” and “Trouble Man,” to classics from The Threepenny Opera and Lost in the Stars. Lindsey and Trotignon released a joint album, Thousands of Miles, in 2017 that “goes far beyond a simple fusion of jazz and classical.” (Crescendo)

The evening’s program will include compositions by Kurt Weill, Erich Wolfgang Korngold, Alexander von Zemlinsky, and Alma Mahler.
