Box Office Information & Policies

Box Office Hours:
Summer hours are 2-5 pm weekdays beginning June 2. During the school year (beginning August 25), hours are 10 am-5 pm weekdays and beginning 90 minutes prior to curtain for ticketed events.

Ordering Tickets:
On-line  Order single tickets 24 hours a day/7 days a week through the Modlin Center’s Web site. Tickets are made available approximately 4 weeks in advance of each performance. A $2.50 per ticket service fee will be applied, as well as a $1 per order handling fee. Tickets will be mailed if time allows, or held at the Box Office for pick up. Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover are accepted. All sales are final. No refunds.

Phone  Call the Modlin Center Box Office at (804) 289-8980 to purchase tickets to upcoming events. If ordering over the phone, tickets must be paid for by credit card (Visa, MasterCard or American Express) or University of Richmond’s SpiderCard. Reservations are not taken without payment. There is a $1.00 per order handling fee applied to phone orders. Tickets will be mailed if time allows, or held at the Box Office for pick up. All sales are final. No refunds.

Window  Stop by the Box Office, located in the Modlin Center for the Arts on the campus of the University of Richmond, for tickets to upcoming events. Tickets can be paid for with cash, check, credit card (Visa, MasterCard or American Express) or University of Richmond’s SpiderCard. All sales are final. No refunds.

Season Tickets & Order Forms:
Season tickets, or subscriptions, are sold only at the beginning of the season: June–September. Orders cannot be placed online, however order forms can be downloaded here as a PDF document (viewable with Adobe Acrobat Reader) and faxed or mailed to the Modlin Center Box Office. Subscribers to the 2007-2008 season should download the form for renewing subscribers. All others should download the form for new subscribers. Please contact the Box Office with any questions.

Single Ticket On-Sale Dates:
Single tickets to Modlin Center events are made available to the public approximately four (4) weeks prior to the performance. University of Richmond faculty, staff and students have access to single tickets six (6) weeks prior to the performance. A complete list of exact on-sale dates can be downloaded here as a pdf. These dates are also listed with each performance on this Web site.

Discounts:
Discounts are available for senior citizens age 65 and older, children age 12 and under, groups of 20 or more people, and University of Richmond employees and students. If any of these apply, please mention it when placing your ticket order. Refunds will not be issued after the sale is finalized. If placed over the Internet, tickets may be held for verification. For example, University of Richmond students may have to show student ID when they pick up their tickets.

College Student Discount:
Students at other colleges and universities can buy 1/2 price tickets to Modlin Center events beginning 3 DAYS prior to Modlin performances with a valid college ID at our box office (no phones or Internet). For our events at the Landmark Theater, the discount is offered any time once tickets are on sale, but only in person at the Landmark Box Office.

Free Events:
For events at the Modlin Center for the Arts that are free and open to the public, reservations are generally not required. Just show up to the hall and choose your seat. Doors generally open 30 minutes in advance of the performance.

Accessibility:
Wheelchair-accessible seat locations are available in all Modlin Center venues. Patrons should indicate their special needs when contacting the Box Office for tickets. These seats are not available through Internet sales.

Ticket Donation:
Subscribers may donate tickets back to the Box Office for re-sale at any time before the performance. This enables someone else to purchase the tickets, thus generating much-needed revenue. A receipt will be mailed for this tax-deductible contribution. Refunds are not offered, except in the case of a canceled performance.
