Join University Dancers in celebrating 31 years of engaging and innovative dance with our annual concert, Momentum, which brings the work of innovative and talented choreographers Charlotte Boye-Christiansen and Nathan Trice to the Modlin Center. The concert also features riveting premiere works choreographed by Richmond favorite, Starr Foster, founder/artistic director of Starr Foster Dance Project, award-winning Chicago dance artist Stephanie Martinez, Cedar Lake artistic director Alexandra Damiani, and University Dancers artist director Anne Van Gelder.
Ms. Boye-Christensen is the founder of NOW-ID, an interdisciplinary site-specific contemporary performance company known for its commitment to inventing unique forms that challenge perceptions of dance.
Nathan Trice has performed with some of the most exciting dance companies including MOMIX, Complexions Contemporary Ballet and Donald Byrd/The Group. His creative work explores multimedia thematic projects that reflect the dynamics of culture, identity, and gender.
Outstanding adjudicated student choreography and live music will be featured, and department faculty Johann Stegmeir and Maja E. White will design original costumes and lights respectively. Don’t miss these talented dancers in a variety of works from the contemporary genre in a dance concert perfect for the entire family.
