A Ph.D. student in Musicology at the University of Virginia, Peter Tirrell D’Elia studied music and history at Harvard College. He completed his M.A. in music at Tufts University, where he won the concerto competition playing Beethoven’s Emperor Concerto and wrote a thesis on pedagogical influences of the music of Muzio Clementi. An active pianist, D’Elia currently teaches piano at the University of Virginia.
