Artist Voices Series: Jessica Lang

Since 1999, Jessica Lang has attained rare levels of success as a female choreographer continuously working with ballet companies across the U.S. and abroad. Lang has created more than 75 works on companies including Birmingham Royal Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, Kansas City Ballet, Richmond Ballet, Cincinnati Ballet, Colorado Ballet, Ailey II, ABT II, Hubbard Street 2, and New York City Ballet's Choreographic Institute, among many others. Lang has been commissioned by the Dallas Museum of Art, the Guggenheim Museum for its Works and Process series, and TITAS for a new creation for San Francisco Ballet principal dancer Yuan Yuan Tan and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater guest artist Clifton Brown. Lang has held residencies with The Juilliard School, NYU Tisch School of the Arts, The Ailey/Fordham BFA Program, Marymount Manhattan College, Purchase College, Southern Methodist University, Princeton University, and University of Richmond, among others. For American Ballet Theatre, she is on the faculty of the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School, the ABT / NYU Steinhart Masters Program, the summer intensive programs in NYC as well as a teaching artist for the Make A Ballet program.

Lang is a graduate of The Juilliard School, under the direction of Benjamin Harkarvy and a former member of Twyla Tharp's company, THARP!
