Direct from Beijing, the National Circus of the People’s Republic of China was founded in 1953, making it one of the longest running and most distinguished circus troupes in China. In addition to winning a host of awards at major international circus festivals, the company has won over 20 Gold and Silver medals. The troupe is especially renowned for unique acts such as the Great Teeterboard, Grand Flying Trapeze, Group Contortion, Straw Hats Juggling, and Girls Balance With Bowls. The National Circus of the People’s Republic of China visits Richmond on their inaugural coast-to-coast North American tour.
