Since 1997, the Department of Music at the University of Richmond has had the benefit of using new Kawai pianos through a special arrangement with Kawai America and their local representative, Jordan Kitt’s Music.
The annual public sale of these fine pianos has been scheduled from 11 am–5 pm on Sunday, May 18, 2008.
As in past years, these instruments will be available for sale before the public event to students, alumni, faculty, staff and friends of the University at substantial savings off the manufacturer’s retail price.
These grand and upright pianos, played by University students and faculty, are typically less than a year old, and have been professionally maintained in the practice rooms and classrooms of the Modlin Center. Other new and used pianos by other distinguished manufacturers, such as Steinway & Sons, will also be available.

Due to security regulations, an appointment is required to attend the event prior to the public day by calling the Appointment Desk at the Modlin Center for the Arts at (804) 272-3191.
