Volunteer Ushering

The Modlin Center is always happy to have interested, enthusiastic people volunteer their time to help out with our shows. Volunteer ushers are an integral part of our presenting business, and we could not offer such a rich and varied selection of events without their support.

Here’s how it works:

• If you already know of a show for which you’d like to usher, simply contact us and let us know. We’ll check the schedule for open spaces and sign you up.

OR

• If you know you’d like to volunteer, but don’t have a specific show in mind, just contact us for a list of upcoming shows, or leave your name, phone number and/or e-mail address with us to be contacted when we need ushers.

THEN

Once you’re signed up, it’s a matter of arriving at the performance venue one hour before the start of the show (i.e. 6:30 pm for our usual 7:30 pm curtain time) and introducing yourself to one of our House Managers (distinguished by a name tag) who will then walk you through the whole process, from scanning tickets to handing out programs to showing patrons to their seats.
